Aangan ("we") helps you search property records, keep your property papers in one place and understand what the records show. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It is written to meet India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Account: your Google account’s email address and name (you sign in with Google, then confirm a one-time code we email to that address), your name and reason for using the app if you add them, and a record of when you accepted these terms and this policy.
- Properties: properties you search for, save or add, and the details you enter about them.
- Documents: files you upload or scan, and the facts our software reads from them (for example a survey number or area).
- Orders and payments: documents you order, fees, and the payment status and reference from our payment provider. We never see or store card, UPI PIN or bank login details.
- Device: a notification token so we can send you alerts, and basic technical data (app version, errors).
- Usage: anonymous counts of which features are used. These never include document contents, owner names or what you typed.
Why we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To show property records, check them for issues, and keep your documents organised.
- To obtain certified copies you order and to keep you updated about them.
- To alert you when something new is registered against a property you saved.
- To fix problems and improve the app. We do not sell your data and we do not use your documents to train AI models.
Translation on your phone
- When you choose an automatically translated language, translation happens on your phone using Google ML Kit. Your text is not sent to us or to Google for translation.
Who we share it with
- Service providers that run the app for us, under contract: cloud hosting and storage, Google (to confirm who you are when you sign in with Google), the email provider that delivers your sign-in code, and the payment provider for orders.
- The government office or its authorised channel, only the details needed to apply for a document you ordered.
- People you choose: share links you create show only the documents you picked, and expire.
- Authorities, only when the law requires it.
Where and how long we keep it
- Your account and property data is stored on servers in India. Document files are stored with our cloud storage provider (Cloudflare R2), encrypted at rest. Everything is protected in transit, and files are only reachable through short-lived signed links.
- We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account we delete your uploads, the properties you added, share links, orders and notifications. We keep an anonymous record that an account was deleted, and any records the law requires us to keep (such as tax invoices) for the period it requires.
Your rights
- See, correct or delete your data: edit your profile in the app, use Profile → Download my data to get a copy of everything stored about your account, and Profile → Delete my account to erase your account and data.
- Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.
- Grievances: contact our Grievance Officer, Ritvik Seth, at ritvik.seth.rs@gmail.com. We will respond within the time the law requires. You can also approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
- The app is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes and contact
- If we change this policy we will tell you in the app. Questions: ritvik.seth.rs@gmail.com. Ritvik Seth (operating as Aangan), G-171, Vikaspuri, New Delhi 110018, India.
